Arizonans for Children Annual Holiday Party for Kids in Foster Care

For years Arizonans for Children has held an annual holiday party for children in foster care, often times this party is the only holiday type event these kids get to experience.

Think about this.....for most of the kids this party signifies another year in "the system" so we work to make it the most memorable time they can have.

Every child and caregiver that come to the party will have a full holiday meal of turkey, mashed potatoes & gravy, stuffing and more!

After eating the kids move to the gym where there is a DJ, Santa, Star Wars characters, dancing, games and most importantly sibling visits.  There are sibling groups that are placed in different foster and group homes that get to see each other and have the holiday together at this party.

All of the kids that come to this party get a bag of gifts!  Every bag has a made blanket, a book and a stuffed animal along with 3-5 really fantastic gifts that are all individually wrapped.  With this being the only holiday event the kids will get we strive to make is magically wonderful.

All the fun and memories would not be possible without support from our community.  There are many ways to get involved and help make these children have the holiday of the lives!

Would you be willing to hold a toy donation drive?  Here is a list of gift suggestions:

We are planning a Golf Tournament Toy Drive with The Arizona Grand Resort for 12/2 - Save the Date and watch for details to follow.

On November 17th at 2:00 Community Partner Healthy Mason Jar will be on site at the Arizonans for Children Mesa Visitation Center for a Toy Drive Event!  Come buy a wonderful meal, bring a toy and learn more about volunteer opportunities with kids in foster care!  We will have craft activities as well.  An afternoon of fun for the whole family while making a difference in the lives of children in foster care.

Both of the Arizonans for Children Visitation Centers will be decorated festively with activities, traditions and gifts to share with the families having visits.  This allows families to create happy memories that help heal what ever trauma brought the children into the foster care system.

Would you like to share your families favorite holiday traditions?  Decorate sugar cookies, build gingerbread houses, sing carols, make paper snowflakes, read stories.....Together we can create a holiday wonderland!
